About Us

What is MCTC?

Motor City Track Club is an all-volunteer organization and 501c3 non-profit corporation. Since 1965, we have served our athletes and the Detroit Community and adapted our goals to meet their evolving needs. Our goal, in association with the United States Track and Field Association (USATF) and the Amateur
Athletic Union (AAU) is to promote the development of the Youth of Detroit in the areas of track and field as well as life skills which will help them become productive contributing members of society. For over 50 years, we have provided a place for the youth to develop new skills or enhance skills they already possess, to test these skills against others and to make new friends. The Club stresses good sportsmanship and
development of self-esteem and physical well-being.

Who We Are

Our track and field program is designed to assist in the development of our youth (ages 5-18), not only the necessary tools needed for track and field skills but life skills and values such as teamwork, family
virtues, diversity, leadership skills and just plain fun. Our Program consists of Indoor Track, Outdoor Track and Cross Country. Our goals are to provide education, training activities, coaching programs and to lead our athletes to drug free and healthy living lifestyles, also stimulating a team atmosphere in a supportive and social environment. It is the purpose of The Motor City Track Club to educate its athletes through development of their athletic and academic strengths.
